Voltage-level translators for mixing 1.8 V / 3.3 V / 5 V logic domains — from simple MOSFET-based bidirectional shifters for I2C to dedicated multi-bit direction-controlled transceivers.

How to choose

TXS/TXB series — auto-direction for mixed buses; TXS for open-drain (I2C), TXB for push-pull.
A single BSS138 + pull-ups is still the cheapest I2C shifter.
For one-direction signals a plain resistor divider (down) or 74LVC1T45 (up) is simpler and faster.
